🚧 Natchez Water Works Update – State Street Water Main Repair

Natchez Water Works crews are continuing work to repair a water main in the 1000 block of State Street. The repair has proven more challenging than anticipated, but crews are working diligently to restore service as quickly as possible.

While preparing to repair the leak, crews discovered that an existing water valve needed to isolate the affected section of the line was inoperable. As a result, a new valve must be installed before repairs to the water main can be completed.

Water service in the affected area will be temporarily interrupted beginning at 10:00 a.m. and is expected to be restored by approximately 2:00 p.m. Crews are hopeful service can be restored sooner. If additional issues arise that could extend the outage, updates will be provided as soon as possible.

There is no need to boil water. System pressure has remained intact, and service is being temporarily shut off solely to facilitate repairs.

Once repairs are complete, crews will flush the water lines. Customers who experience temporary discoloration in their water are encouraged to run cold water through an outdoor faucet or bathtub faucet until the water runs clear.

Customers with questions or concerns may contact Natchez Water Works at 601-445-5521.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as these necessary repairs are completed.
