National Night Out Proclamation Presented at Nassau Bay City Council Meeting

Last night at the Nassau Bay City Council meeting, the Mayor and City Council presented Chief Tim Cromie with a proclamation officially declaring October 6, 2026, as National Night Out Day in Nassau Bay.

National Night Out is a nationwide event that brings neighbors together to strengthen community partnerships and promote public safety. Residents are encouraged to get to know their neighbors and work together to help keep our community safe.

National Night Out will be Tuesday, October 6, 2026. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime awareness, generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. Neighborhood groups organize block parties or cookouts and are visited by local first responders. Nassau Bay Police Officers, Nassau Bay Volunteer Fire Department and City Staff will make their rounds to visit each registered event location.
We want to bring the party to the neighborhoods so there is a better opportunity for residents to meet those that live next to them. This also allows Police Officers, Firefighters, and City Staff more time to spend visiting with the residents by going to each registered block party.
