Have you seen bioretention basins like this around Nashville? These Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs) use plants to absorb excess water and filter pollutants while safely draining water away from buildings. General Services has been performing preventative maintenance on the department's SCMs to make sure that they are functioning properly and looking good! 🌱

This Saturday is your chance to bike or walk the 3 mile Open Streets route. It's a chance to explore downtown in a new and less car-centric way!

Ready for more people-first, car-free streets in Nashville? We are!

Mark your calendars for Open Streets Downtown on May 16, June 13, and July 11! We’re closing a three-mile loop of downtown streets to cars and inviting Nashville to walk, bike, and explore.

There’s no registration required to participate. Just hop on your bike — or grab a skateboard, roller skates, or a comfy pair of walking shoes — and join us for a citywide block party! We hope you’ll find a new favorite spot in town. Stay tuned for more information on our route, what to do, and much more!

This event is being hosted by Walk Bike Nashville and Nashville Department of Transportation & Multimodal Infrastructure. Learn more about Open Streets at openstreetsnashville.org!
