Today, Judge Sheila Calloway had the honor of swearing in new employees of the Juvenile Court of Metropolitan Nashville & Davidson County! 👏🏽⚖️

This is always a special moment, but this group represents something even bigger — growth, preparation, and the exciting future ahead for Juvenile Court. 💙

As we move closer to the opening of the Nashville Youth Campus for Empowerment (NYCE), we are beginning to thoughtfully ramp up our staffing and strengthen the team that will help carry this important work forward. NYCE will be more than a new building — it will be a new home for service, support, accountability, hope, and opportunity for Nashville’s youth and families. 🌟🏛️

Join artist William Massey and Metro Arts on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, for an interactive community engagement event dedicated to the new Juvenile Court of Metropolitan Nashville & Davidson County Nashville Youth Campus for Empowerment (NYCE) Sculpture Project.

This is a special opportunity to meet the artist, learn about his creative process, and share your thoughts on the identity, spirit, and heart of the Nashville community. 💬❤️

NYCE is more than a building project — it represents Nashville’s commitment to our youth, families, restoration, accountability, healing, and community-centered justice. 🧡⚖️🌱

Community members are also invited to bring a small personal item that represents Nashville, youth empowerment, resilience, hope, or community connection. These items may be physically incorporated into the future sculpture! 🧩🏙️

For many young people, starting school with a pair of clean, comfortable sneakers means more than just having something to wear. It means walking into the classroom with confidence. It means feeling seen. It means beginning the school year with dignity, pride, and hope.

That is why we need your help.

The 4th Annual Juvenile Court Back 2 School Sneaker Bash is about more than sneakers. It is about showing our youth that their community believes in them and wants them to succeed.

Our Summer 2026 Intern Cohort had the opportunity to tour the Metro Student Attendance Center (MSAC) and learn more about one of the important ways the Juvenile Court of Metropolitan Nashville & Davidson County works to support students and families in our community.

The tour was led by Richard Fletcher, MSAC Supervisor, who provided valuable insight into truancy laws, the role of MSAC, and how Juvenile Court partners with Metro Nashville Public Schools to address attendance concerns before they become larger barriers for students.

Our interns learned that consistent school attendance is about more than being present in the classroom — it is about making sure every young person has access to the education, support, and opportunities they deserve.
