Meet Judge Taylor Bachelor, candidate for re-election to General Sessions Criminal Court, Division 7 in Shelby County.

Judge Taylor Bachelor brings more than sixteen years of legal experience across prosecution, defense, and the judiciary. As the presiding judge of Division 7, she has built her career on a commitment to fairness, accountability, and dignity in the courtroom, ensuring that both victims and defendants are treated with respect under the law.

A graduate of Tennessee State University and the University of Memphis School of Law, Judge Bachelor’s dedication to justice is grounded in both academic excellence and a deep commitment to public service. She has also pursued theological studies at Memphis Theological Seminary, reflecting her belief in the moral responsibility that guides true justice.

Judge Bachelor’s leadership extends beyond the courtroom. She has served with organizations such as the Shelby County Drug Court Foundation, Women United for United Way of the Mid-South, and the National Bar Association’s Ben F. Jones Chapter, and she is a trustee at St. Paul Baptist Church. Her work reflects a lifelong dedication to strengthening families and supporting community well-being.
