On Patriot Day, Breaking the Sickle Cell Cycle Foundation pauses to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families forever changed, and the first responders who answered the call to serve.

As an organization committed to supporting individuals and families impacted by sickle cell disease, we know the importance of community, compassion and standing together through difficult moments.

Today, we honor those we lost and carry forward the spirit of service and unity that brought so many people together.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Overall male and female finishers can win:
🥇 1st Place — $150
🥈 2nd Place — $100
🥉 3rd Place — $50

We’ll also recognize first- and second-place male and female finishers in each age group. The awards ceremony begins at 10:15 AM.

❤️Nashville Stands with the Sickle Cell Community! ❤️

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our incredible partners at Blood Assurance, the Metro Nashville Mayor’s Office, and Freddie O'Connell, Mayor of Metropolitan Nashville & Davidson County for recognizing September as Sickle Cell Awareness Month and signing a proclamation in support of the importance of blood donors and the sickle cell community.

This proclamation is more than a document—it gives visibility and a voice to every individual and family fighting the daily challenges of needing blood donors to sustain life. It sends a powerful message that Nashville sees us within the sickle cell community, supports us, and stands with us.

We are grateful for leaders and community partners who are willing to shine a light on sickle cell disease and help create greater awareness, advocacy, access to resources, and support.
