Long before founding Breaking The SSickle Cell Cycle, Dr. Lametra Scott's advocacy began as a mother determined to make a difference for her child and others affected by sickle cell disease.

In this feature, Dr. Scott joined NewsChannel 5+ on Urban Outlook to discuss sickle cell disease, the sickle cell trait, and why education is one of the most powerful tools we have in improving outcomes for families and communities.

These conversations matter. Every person who learns their status, shares information, or advocates for awareness helps move us one step closer to breaking the cycle.

Thank you to NewsChannel 5+ and Urban Outlook for helping shine a light on this important issue and the work that continues today. ❤️
