This morning during roll call, our team paused to reflect and honor the 25th anniversary of September 11th.

Led by Superintendent Erik Barnett, a veteran himself, we observed a moment of silence to remember the victims and honor the courage and bravery shown by first responders that day.

As we approach this Labor Day weekend, we want to remind you that holidays falling on Mondays do not affect our residential curbside collection schedule or convenience center hours.

Collection will continue on your normal service day next week, and convenience centers will be open Saturday, September 5th.

We hope you have a safe and relaxing holiday!

HOT WEATHER ALERT FOR ALL RESIDENTS:

Due to high temperatures, our drivers will begin their routes at 5 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3rd and Friday, Sept. 4th. Starting earlier will help our crews beat the worst of the heat and stay safe while working their routes.

We ask that you please place your curbside trash and recycling carts out the night before to make sure they are ready when our drivers arrive.

Thank you to everyone who came out to drop off materials at the D29 Bulk Recycling Day event at Compton's Foodland. Our team was busy collecting e-waste, mattresses, and scrap metal, giving residents a safe way to recycle these materials responsibly and reduce landfill waste.

We appreciate all our partners who helped make this event a success, including Nashville Department of Transportation & Multimodal Infrastructure , Councilmember Tasha Ellis, District 29 , ThriftSmart , and The Metro Beautification and Environment Commission.

Let's continue to keep Nashville clean and beautiful!

We also take many more hazardous materials, including chemicals, batteries, oil paints and more.
