Today, TNECD joins Gov. Bill Lee and Tennesseans across the state in remembering the innocent lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, honoring the heroes who answered the call and praying for the families forever changed by that day.

May we never forget.

Some days in life can be summed up by a simple sentence. Others require chapters to tell; September 11, 2001 is one of them.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the innocent lives lost, honor the heroes who answered the call, and give thanks for the courage and unity that emerged from our nation’s grief.

Maria Lee and I invite Tennesseans to join us in prayer for the families forever changed by this terror and observe moments of silence at the following times.

May we never forget.
