This past Saturday, South Officers and MDHA Officers headed to the Napier and Sudekum neighborhoods to partner with them for the Rising Together event. These neighborhoods are in the process of being rebuilt so this event gave different organizations and residents of the community the opportunity to come together. South precinct was able to hand out some goodies; backpacks, sunglasses, water bottles and little squishy MNPD cars.

It is illegal to pass a school bus that has stopped to load or unload students. Always stop completely for school buses and never try to pass on either side, as children could be getting on or off or preparing to cross the street.

REMINDER, Nashville! Trust your gut when som**hing seems suspicious. No one should ever contact you asking for immediate payment to get you out of a citation, bond, ticket, arrest, etc. That's a big red flag 🚩We do not want you to be the next victim of a scam!

It was a busy Saturday in the South Nashville area.

The Napier/Sudekum neighborhood had their back-to-school bash (special appearance from T-Rac)

Little Caesar's (on Murfreesboro Pk) had their ribbon cutting/grand opening.

Shoutout to officers at South precinct for continuing to remove guns and drugs off the street!

On the morning of Saturday August 8, 2026, South Precinct officers observed a suspicious vehicle at 97 Wallace Rd. Ofc Conklin, Aziz and Smith, made contact with the driver of the vehicle, Travian Hatten. While speaking with the driver, officers observed an open container (of alcohol) in the cup holder, which Mr Hatten stated to be his. Mr. Hatten was instructed to exit the vehicle and produce his license, which he stated was in the driver’s side visor. Permission was granted to the officers by Mr. Hatten to obtain his license. While no license was found, officers did see in plain view, rolling papers and dark green item (believed to be ma*****na) in plastic. Mr. Hatten advised officers that it was his blunt. He furthered stated the dark green item was in fact ma*****na. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and located rolling papers, 4.1 grams of ma*****na, 40.8 grams of co***ne, 15.2 grams of m**h, two scales, 5 Schedule II pills, a 9mm pistol (as well as ammunition). Officers also located $2,021 cash on Mr. Hatten. All items were seized and Mr. Hatten was transported to booking.

DAVIDSON COUNTY SCHOOLS RETURN TUESDAY, AUGUST 11TH

As students return to school, please slow down and stay alert, especially around school buses and bus stops.

Watch for children waiting at bus stops and crossing the street. Always reduce your speed in residential areas.
