The lake provides a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities including fishing, hunting, camping, picnicking, boating, canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, and others. Construction of J. Percy Priest Dam began June 2, 1963. The dam was dedicated by President Lyndon B. Johnson June 29, 1968.

Huge shoutout to all the young participants that came out to our 2nd annual Fishing Rodeo! 🎣☀️It was hot but mostly everyone stayed till the end. Congrats to those who won first caught and most! 👏👏

We are also very grateful to our partners with their generous donations for prizes .

Thank you Percy Priest Hybrid and Stripers Club for providing extra poles and bait, and your support through the event! 🐟
