Today, we’re celebrating the people who make it all happen: the case managers, youth workers, EDS teams, volunteers, and staff who give their time, energy, and compassion to serve their communities every day.

Their work might not always be visible, but their labor helps push our communities forward.

For the first time in decades, Daniel* had a place to call his own.

Daniel had experienced homelessness since 1989. When he entered The Salvation Army Center of Hope program in August 2025, he began working toward something he had never truly had: a permanent home of his own.

Over the months that followed, Daniel remained committed to moving forward. He participated in Life Skills classes, contributed to his community at the Center of Hope and stayed focused on the goals that would help him build greater independence. He even completed Goodwill Industries’ Basic Computer Skills Training Program, adding new skills for the next chapter of his life.

Then came the moment he had worked toward.

After more than three decades of experiencing homelessness, Daniel moved into permanent housing.

A key in his hand. A door of his own. A place to finally call home.

Daniel’s journey was decades in the making, and we were honored to walk alongside him for this part of it. Congratulations, Daniel. Welcome home.
