DEMOCRACY IS ABOUT THE PEOPLE NOT A PARTY
There is a good deal of discussion about saving democracy in the media and coming from both major parties. It seems that, depending on who is speaking, they want to present themselves as guardians of American Democracy. Truthfully, the word stems from two Greek words, “Demos” (People) “Kratos” (Power). However, most of the American people are so busy working and living our lives that we tend not to participate in things like debate, dialogue, and research, thus limiting the power of our votes. The latter is exactly how the two-party system controls elections and policies affecting the quality of life for all three hundred and thirty million Americans.
