Did someone call or leave a voicemail about your SNAP or Families First benefits and say your benefits were suspended? It may be a scam! Here are four things to remember about communications from TDHS:

1️⃣TDHS will not ask for your EBT card PIN if they contact you.

2️⃣ If you are unsure if a call, text, or e-mail is from TDHS, do not respond. Instead, review your case on the One DHS Customer Portal or check your transaction history using ebtEDGE.

3️⃣You can check your case details, find updates and learn about important dates when you log into the One DHS Customer Portal at https://onedhs.tn.gov/csp. You can also ask Ava, the virtual chat assistant, to help you find information or connect you with a TDHS representative."

4️⃣ The ebtEDGE Cardholder Portal (https://www.ebtedge.com/gov/portal/PortalHome.do) and Mobile App (https://www.fisglobal.com/ebtedgemobile) have features
✔️Freeze your account anytime you suspect suspicious activity
✔️Change your PIN regularly
✔️Block out-of-state purchases

Some criminals pretend to be TDHS by phone, text, or e-mail to gain personal information and steal customer benefits. For tips to help you keep your benefits safe, visit our website at https://www.tn.gov/humanservices/need-help-/tdhs-fraud.html.

Tennessee's Summer Nutrition Initiative is happening! Families with children who qualify will automatically receive $120 on their current EBT card in mid-June 2026.

This year’s program will serve families with school-age children who:
✔️Actively participated in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Families First (TANF) on May 1, 2026.
And
✔️Live in Bledsoe, Cannon, Clay, DeKalb, Fentress, Hancock, Humphreys, Jackson, Lewis, Marshall, Moore, Sequatchie, and Smith County.

The Tennessee Summer Nutrition Initiative aims to help families who rely on the National School Lunch Program but have limited access to the Summer Food Service Program. Families who qualify will be automatically enrolled.

🔗Details on the Summer Nutrition Initiative can be found at https://www.tn.gov/humanservices/summer-nutrition-initiative.html.

📍If you live in a county that is not served by the Tennessee Summer Nutrition Initiative, the Summer Food Service Program has SUN Meal sites across Tennessee that offer free meals to school age children during the summer months. To find a local meal site, visit https://www.fns.usda.gov/summer/sitefinder.
