PTSD doesn't always look like flashbacks. Sometimes it looks like this:

➡️ Snapping at the people you love for no clear reason
➡️ Feeling disconnected from your own life
➡️ Avoiding places, people, or conversations that feel unsafe
➡️ Struggling to sleep even when you're exhausted
➡️ Feeling like you have to stay on guard — always

Trauma shows up differently for everyone. And it doesn't have to be a war or a single dramatic event. Abuse, loss, accidents, medical crises, childhood experiences, all of it counts.

If any of this sounds familiar, your feelings are valid — and support is available. Call 615-743-1555 to start healing.

Rhondria, owner of Beauty Is Pain Studio, donated $250 to MHC Chattanooga after hosting her "Ride for Your Mind" Mental Health Awareness Motorcycle Ride. She researched community mental health partners, chose MHC because our mission resonated with her, and even brought our team t-shirts, bracelets, and stickers to keep the message going.

This is what community looks like. Thank you, Rhondria, and every rider who showed up!

At MHC, our doors are open to everyone. 💙

This Pride Month, we reaffirm our commitment to providing compassionate, inclusive mental health care to every individual who walks through our doors - regardless of who they are or whom they love.

Studies show that LGBTQ+ individuals face significantly higher rates of anxiety, depression, and substance use. Access to affirming, judgment-free care makes a real difference.

PTSD can affect anyone - veterans, survivors of abuse or violence, first responders, children, and individuals who have experienced trauma in many forms. Healing doesn’t always happen overnight, and no one should feel like they have to navigate it alone.

This National PTSD Awareness Month, we want to remind our community that support is available, treatment works, and recovery is possible. We provide compassionate, whole-person mental health care designed to meet people where they are.

If you or someone you love is struggling, take the first step today. Call 615-743-1555 to connect with services.

As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, we want to remind our community that mental health care isn’t just a once-a-year conversation.

Taking care of yourself can start with small steps - checking in with yourself, reaching out for support, creating space to rest, or talking to someone you trust. Every step matters.

If you or someone you know is ready to take the next step, we’re here to help.

When someone is struggling to put food on the table, focusing on their mental health recovery feels impossible. That's a reality for many of the individuals, children, and families we serve every day - those living with serious mental illness, on TennCare, or uninsured.

So we did something about it.

MHC recently launched our own food bank at our Memphis location, held every Wednesday. Each week, we provide groceries and food staples directly to the people we serve, removing one of the biggest barriers standing between them and stability.

Your donation goes directly toward:

➡️ Stocking our weekly food bank with groceries and essentials
➡️ Supporting those who are on TennCare or uninsured
➡️ Removing food insecurity as a barrier to mental health care

No donation is too small. Every dollar helps us keep our shelves stocked and our community supported.
