Today is ***dePreventionDay — a day to pause, reflect, and remind our community that help is always here. 💙

In Tennessee, su***de remains the third leading cause of death among those aged 10–24. Behind that statistic is a young person, a family, a community that deserved more support. Prevention, awareness, and access to care matter so deeply to everything we do at MHC.

If you or someone you love is struggling, you don’t have to figure it out alone:

→ Call or text 988: Su***de & Crisis Lifeline (available 24/7)
→ MHC Crisis Line: 615-726-0125 (available 24/7)
→ Walk into MHC Metro's Crisis Centers (C&Y CSU & Adult CTC), no appointment needed (24/7)
→ If there is immediate danger — call 911

We're so grateful NewsChannel 5 Nashville was there to capture this. 💙

Reporter Hannah McDonald covered our Mother To Mother resource fair at MHC Metro. Over 400 new and expectant parents showed up and connected with free strollers, car seats, baby gear, food assistance, health care support, and community organizations ready to help growing families thrive.

Shaun Womack, Metro Facility Administrator said it best: “We recognize the need from a parent perspective — there’s a host of resources necessary to make sure our kiddos have everything they need.”

We officially cut the ribbon today in Cookeville, and we are so grateful for the community that showed up to celebrate with us.

Our Interim CEO Dr. Corey Cronrath shared today:
“We want to take care of the whole person. We are geared to connect you to the services you need.”

That might mean psychiatric treatment or counseling. Or it might mean a care manager who connects you to local resources for food insecurity, housing instability, or help with utilities. Whatever it looks like for you — we’re here for all of it.

Cookeville, we are so glad to be your neighbors. If you or someone you know is ready to start services, we’d love to meet you.

September is Su***de Prevention Month — and at MHC, that means making sure our community knows exactly where to turn when things feel impossible.

Sometimes the hardest part is knowing help exists. It does. And it's closer than you think.

If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of su***de or a mental health crisis, here's where to start:

- Call or text 988 — the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7
- MHC Crisis Line: 615-726-0125 — answered 24 hours a day
- Walk into any MHC location, Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4:30 PM — no appointment needed
- Adult Crisis Center: 250 Cumberland Bend, Nashville — open 24/7
- Children & Youth Crisis Center: 260A Cumberland Bend, Nashville — open 24/7

MHC’s Interim CEO, Dr. Corey Cronrath, joined host Nick Beres on NewsChannel 5+ MorningLine to talk about what makes MHC different and how our care model is changing lives across Tennessee.

The conversation touched on our whole-person approach to care — treating mental health, addiction, and primary care needs together — and our recently published research in the New England Journal of Medicine Catalyst, which recognized MHC for delivering high-quality care to some of the most medically complex and financially vulnerable patients in our community, without wasteful spending of Medicaid dollars.

This is the work we show up for every day. We’re proud to share it with Tennessee.

We are proud to announce that Andrea Westerfield is returning to MHC as our new Chief Executive Officer, effective September 8, 2026.

Andrea’s story with MHC is one that reflects the very best of this organization. She began her career here as a Care Manager nearly 20 years ago, growing through leadership roles and ultimately serving as Chief Operating Officer. She knows MHC from the inside out — the consumers we serve, the associates who show up every day, and the mission that drives all of it.
