Nashville film folks... this one's been a long time coming.

After a five-year hiatus, Salute Your Shorts Night is officially back. 🎥❤️

If you were around the Nashville film scene in the 2010s, you probably remember the packed rooms at The Stone Fox, later The Family Wash and Smith & Lentz, watching locally made short film gems with the people who created them.

Then the 2020 tornado hit, the pandemic followed, and the series took a long & well-needed breather.

But our film friends kept asking the same question:
"When are you bringing Salute back?"

So, we are, and we couldn't be more thrilled to be back at it!

Join us Monday, March 30 at 7PM at Jackalope Brewing Co. (Wedgwood-Houston) for a mess of short films from Nashville & Tennessee filmmakers - plus filmmaker Q&As hosted by our beloved emcee Caleb Dirks, an intermission to mingle, and plenty of creative crossings of the Schwartz. Maybe some hugs and high fives, too.

As we all try to be better and “Do the Right Thing” as Spike said, our next Salute program will be dedicated entirely to amplifying the voices of black filmmakers & black stories from our great city and beyond. We’re pulling together a stellar lineup, but we also encourage all black filmmakers and creatives to submit their work and spread the word! The Nashville 48hour film project (2019) is embarking soon! And THIS YEAR they aren’t just “making quality short films in a tiny fragment of time” (48 hours to be exact!), in fact, they are making some quality time just for you all to come and create and explore.
