Today, we celebrated the rich diversity of our school community by honoring our Hispanic scholars, staff, families, and the cultures and traditions they bring to our community. 💛

Diversity is one of the pillars on which our school stands firmly. We believe we are better together, and that diverse school communities make the educational experience richer for EVERYONE.

When we say we are committed to educating all scholars, we mean it. That means creating a community where every scholar and family is seen, valued, and celebrated.

We were proud to celebrate Hispanic heritage together today and the many people who make our school community so special! 🎉

Today at Open House, NC West families got a hands-on look at the learning happening every day! 📚✨

Families explored classrooms alongside scholars, connected with faculty, and learned more about our curriculum and how we support scholars on their journey to becoming confident, college-ready learners. They also had the opportunity to explore resources available to support learning and growth at home.

Thank you to all of our families who joined us and continue to partner with us in our scholars’ success! Go Wildcats!! 🐾✨

🌱 Growing Together! 🌱

Today, our 5th graders celebrated the completion of their study of Paul Fleischman’s Seedfolks and their first unit by showing gratitude to members of our school community who have made a positive impact on them!

Scholars decorated and gifted pots with seed paper as a special reminder of the many ways these individuals have helped our scholars, and our school community, grow. 💚

What a meaningful way to celebrate learning, gratitude, and the people who help make our community so special!

Our founder Charlie Friedman shares the secret behind Nashville Classical's success in this article for The 74.

Over the last 4 years, Nashville Classical East doubled its 3rd grade literacy scores, rising to the state's top 3% of schools and outscoring every district in Tennessee.

The secret wasn't magic -- it was hard work by an amazing team of teachers and leaders who kept a laser-like focus on the Science of Reading and Learning.

Read the article at the link below and tell us what you think!

Friedman: Moving third grade reading mastery from 40% to 81% involved coaching on the Science of Reading, building knowledge and embracing writing https://bit.ly/4xrhDfJ
