Brian Sullivan for Metro Council District 4

Brian Sullivan for Metro Council District 4 Nashville Resident, Activist, Business Owner, Advocate for Inclusion and Diversity, and much more! The answer is simple. I’m not just asking you to vote for me.

I’m Brian "Sully" Sullivan and I’m running for Metro Council District 4 and have lived in Nashville the past 14 years. Politics is a messy arena, so some of you might be asking, why willingly walk into a lions den? I grew up the son of hard working musicians who walked a worried floor wanting the best life they could give my brother and I, so when I made Nashville my home, I wanted the same thing

for people in our communities. As a former journalist, I worked to tell their stories and how they overcame them to raise awareness about the issues they were facing. Later, I became an activist, fighting for representation, mental health, recovery and equity in our government. Now, I hope to serve District 4 and our city as an advocate for YOU. There are a lot of important decisions Metro Council will make next year, including issues with developments like the East Bank property and new Titans’ stadium. Funding for organizations like the Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition to help displaced families, a new police precinct and fire station near our district. Even the tone our city sets when the state attempts to resize our city council or pass discriminatory laws that affect our residents. Making sure that Nashville remains a welcoming and safe place for people of all races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations and gender identities. Doing what we can as a city to protect their choices over who they love, and their own body. I’m asking you to vote for US. I hope you’ll register, and cast your vote for the leader District 4 needs. Let’s head to the polls and put our government BACK into the hands of the people. See you there! To find out more about me and my vision for Nashville visit www.sully4nashville.com

754 people died by drug overdose in the Nashville area last year, making us the 2nd deadliest major metro in the country. It is long past time we elect city and state leaders who care about our mental health and access to treatment. Lives depend on it. I urge you to please go to the polls Thursday and choose those leaders:
Aftyn Behn for TN HD51
Freddie O'Connell for Mayor
Mike Cortese for Metro Council 4
Eric A. Patton for District 11

Voting information: https://www.nashville.gov/departments/elections/find-polling-place

Davidson County had the highest rate of overdose deaths in the state, and second in the country when compared to metros over 500,000 people.

Thank you all so very much for calling and texting. I’m trying to get back with everybody, but if I don’t reach you tonight, I will respond in the morning. It’s been a really long day and I think we all could use some rest.

I have been in contact with both Mike Cortese and Davette Blalock. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness throughout this entire process. The conversations we have had were all productive and uplifting, and I could not ask for better opponents.

To everyone who donated and volunteered, everyone who endorsed me, Tennessee Advocates for Planned Parenthood, TIRRC Votes, Moms Demand Action - TN for naming me a distinguished Candidate, all of the people who believed in me, I am just so overwhelmed. And I want you to please know that I did the very best I could.

My neighbor who immigrated here, got registered after I knocked on her door and cast the very first vote in her life for me, along with 543 others. Nothing could ever take that wonderful experience away from me.

Now, we must shift our focus to rallying behind our next Councilmember to help them build a brighter future for ALL Nashvillians. I love you all with all my heart, and thank you for this once in a lifetime experience.
