This week, students from Rocky Mount High School's Carpentry Program participated in the NC Connect for Success (CFSNC) S.H.E.D. (Students' Hands-On Experience Day) Competition, where they worked alongside industry professionals in a hands-on construction experience designed to simulate real-world job sites.
Throughout the competition, students showcased teamwork, craftsmanship, problem-solving, and a strong work ethic while building a shed to code and specifications. This experience provided valuable exposure to careers in the skilled trades while strengthening technical and employability skills.
A special shoutout to Ms. StacyAnn Williams for her leadership and dedication to creating meaningful opportunities for students in the Carpentry program at Rocky Mount High School.
This is what Career and Technical Education is all about: real skills, real experiences, and real opportunities for students to build their futures. đ
