Update: Sorry for the delay! Today (Wednesday) was a great day of sunshine and melting ice! Our road grater was able to make significant progress on our city streets. Thursday we will have two road graders working on our streets. A huge thank you to Justin Jacques for that! We will be getting off the main roads and into the neighborhoods.

Waste Management will be picking up trash, both residential and commercial next week. They will be expecting extra trash and will pick up what is out.

City Hall is open normal hours.

I want to take a minute and give a big thank you to all city employees! We have all been focused on the ice since it was first forecasted. Every city employee has done their very best to prepare, and work through this ice storm to keep the city running as normal as possible.

Tip of my cap to Brent Pinkerton and the county crews for the work they have done for us all!

Lastly I want to thank all of you for your patience through this last week. I appreciate all of the text of thanks and encouragement.

Waste Management will pick up residential and commercial trash next week, regular schedule. If your trash can is full they WILL THIS TIME pick up what is sitting beside it.

Update: I have been out and about most of the day. Streets in town are hard packed with ice. Street crews will be out tomorrow to see if we can do anything with it. We will do the best we can with it. Please only get out if absolutely necessary. We have opened Carter Day Training Center as a warming station. BE AWARE! There are no cots. We only have tables and chairs. If anyone needs to go to Carter Day, it will be open. If you need help getting there please let us know.
Please pray for the folks in our neighboring states where the storm was much worse. Give thanks to the Lord that we were spared the worst of it! Check on your neighbors. Call if you need help. Stay warm and safe!
I will update again tomorrow.

City Hall will be closed tomorrow. Waste Management will NOT be picking up any trash on Monday or Tuesday. The earliest they will be to town will be Wednesday. We will keep any updates here on our page. Landfill will be closed Monday and Tuesday. Please don't get out on the roads unless absolutely necessary.

Update: The roads are slick! Stay home unless you must get out. We will be out working on the streets as soon as the threat of precipitation is gone. In town the power is still on. So far we have not experienced any major issues with the water system. All of our first responders (police and fire) are operating as normal at this time. Please be aware of the upcoming weather and stay updated. Check on your neighbors and stay warm! I will update again as we go through the weekend. Thank you!

The City of Nashville is preparing Carter Day Training Center as a warming station if the need arises. The City will be working closely with our County Office of Emergency Management Coordinator to monitor the situation as the storm happens. I will be posting updates throughout this weather event.

With severe weather expected this weekend, we want everyone to be prepared. Please wrap any exposed outdoor pipes and leave cabinet doors open under sinks to allow warm air to circulate.

There is a strong possibility of power outages, so we encourage you to have flashlights, extra batteries, and a safe way to stay warm, as temperatures will be extremely cold. Please remember to bring pets indoors or ensure they have adequate shelter, warmth, food, and water during this time.

We also ask for your patience with our electric crews, who may be working in frigid conditions to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. Likewise, please be patient with City employees as we work to keep everyone safe, clear roads, remove fallen limbs, and ensure water services continue uninterrupted.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please stay safe.
