'America 250' - let's keep the celebration going!

Wineland & Friends will bring a rich and engaging musical experience to the Music for Seniors America 250 Celebration at the Tennessee State Museum on Wednesday, August 12th, 2026, 11:00 am– 12:00 noon.

Blending tradition and innovation, the group will perform a lively selection of songs from both past and present, offering a musical journey that reflects the depth, diversity, and spirit of our country. Their performance promises to be both heartfelt and uplifting, honoring the many voices that have shaped the American story.

The ensemble features Richard Wineland on vocals and guitar, joined by Lee Armstrong Wineland on piano, Amberly Rosen on fiddle, and Roy Vogt on bass. Together, these accomplished musicians create a warm, dynamic sound that moves effortlessly across genres—from folk and Americana to contemporary favorites—capturing the varied musical traditions that define the nation.

Expect a program of storytelling through song, filled with moments of reflection, joy, and connection. Whether you’re drawn to familiar melodies or eager to discover something new, Wineland & Friends invite you to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with music that speaks to the heart of who we are—past, present, and future.

On this day in 1965, the Older Americans Act was signed into law, creating a lasting national commitment to supporting older adults.

Today, the OAA continues to strengthen communities by supporting home- and community-based services that help older adults remain healthy, independent, and connected as they age. Through the national aging services network, these programs provide nutrition, transportation, caregiver support, elder justice services, and much more.
