As we continue to recognize National Su***de Prevention Month, letβs keep
breaking the silence by learning the warning signs and checking in on one
another. π
Someone may be struggling if they are:
β’ Talking about wanting to die or feeling hopeless
β’ Saying they feel like a burden to others
β’ Withdrawing from family, friends, or activities they once enjoyed
β’ Experiencing extreme mood swings or sudden changes in behavior
β’ Giving away important belongings or saying goodbye
β’ Increasing their use of alcohol or drugs
β’ Taking dangerous risks or acting recklessly
β’ Talking about feeling trapped or having no reason to live
These signs donβt always mean someone is thinking about su***de, but
they can be a signal that they need support.
Trust your instincts. Ask the question. Listen without judgment. Help them
connect with support.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the
Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.
Letβs break the silence and support one another. π
