Let’s go!
URGENT: We Can Fight to Stop the Data Center. Here's What You Can Do Right Now.
The Air Force is deciding whether to approve a massive data center at Arnold AFB. The decision comes at the end of May or early June. That's days away, not months.
We can fight back if we act NOW.
STEP 1: MAKE THREE CALLs
Rep. DesJarlais - (931) 962-3180
Sen. Blackburn - (202) 224-3344
Sen. Hagerty - (202) 224-4944
Say: "I oppose the data center at Arnold AFB. It will drain our water, spike electricity rates, and damage our environment. Demand the Air Force conduct a full environmental review before approval."
STEP 2: CALL ARNOLD AIR FORCE BASE
(931) 454-3000, ext 3 (for Public Affairs)
Ask: "Which company's proposal was selected? When will it be announced publicly? Will there be environmental review? Will there be a public comment period?"
STEP 3: SPREAD THE WORD
Share this post. Talk to neighbors. Post on social media. The more people who know, the more calls our representatives get. Organized communities stop bad projects.
STEP 4: FILE A FOIA REQUEST
Send to: Arnold AFB FOIA Office, 100 Kindel Drive, Arnold AFB, TN 37389
Request: Environmental Assessment, Environmental Impact Statement, Air Quality Impact Assessment, Water Usage Impact Study, Noise Impact Study.
Environmental reviews may already be done. Public records reveal what the Air Force knows about the damage.
STEP 5: ORGANIZE OUR COMMUNITY
Talk to neighbors. Form a community group. Organize town halls. Start petitions. One person is a complaint. One hundred organized is a movement.
STEP 6: PREPARE FOR THE ANNOUNCEMENT
Decision coming end of May/early June. When announced: demand environmental review, demand public comment period, contact representatives immediately, organize rapid response, contact local media.
STEP 7: ATTEND SUNDAY'S EVENT
The Informed Citizen Series presents "An Inconvenient Truth" 20th Anniversary
We'll have a climate change overview, a Climate Reality Project launch, and a data center deep dive and discussion.
Sunday May 31st, 2-5 PM, at the Coffee County Administrative Plaza
