🚧 TRAFFIC UPDATE: FM 989/Kings Highway Bridge Closure 🚧

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has provided the following update regarding access routes during this phase of the FM 989/Kings Highway bridge closure:

You can now access the south side of I-30 from the north side via:
β€’ FM 2148 Interchange

πŸš› Commercial Traffic / Semi-Trucks ("Big Rigs")
The FM 3419 Interchange is the recommended route and is designed to accommodate large commercial vehicles.

πŸš— Passenger Vehicles
Passenger vehicles may use either the FM 2148 or FM 3419 interchanges.

πŸ“ Traveling Westbound on I-30 Frontage Roads to access Nash
Drivers can follow the frontage road alongside I-30 westbound... Hampton Road is open and will take you over Kings Hwy to access the FM 2148 or FM 3419 interchanges.

πŸ“ Traveling Eastbound on I-30
Drivers will be able to use Exit 217, located between the FM 2148 and FM 3419 interchanges to access Nash.

We will update more as the multiple phases of construction evolve.

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use caution in all construction and detour areas. We appreciate everyone's patience as work continues in the area.

Now we can agree, NO ONE likes change. It's just human nature. But here at Nash, we choose to view this through the lens of a "glass half-full" mindset. Even though we, too, appreciate being able to put our cars in drive and just coast on our merry way, we know that realistically, these things have to be done. Some change is necessary for growth and development so despite the frustration of having to change your normal route and routine, we hope you still visit your favorite restaurants, coffee shops, and local businesses here in Nash. Remember, you can still get here by way of Hwy 82/ New Boston Rd or from the south on N. Kings Hwy.

*We are working with TxDOT to learn the best routes for traffic through our area and will keep you updated as we get information.

NASH IS STILL OPEN FOR BUSINESS! Hope to see you soon!

TEXARKANA: The FM 989/Kings Hwy bridge over I-30 is scheduled to close this Thursday morning, June 11, 2026 around 9 a.m.
➑ This Saturday night, June 13, 2026 around midnight, all I-30 traffic is scheduled to be diverted to the frontage roads as crews tear down the bridge.

-Update to the update-

The end is still in sight… just not today. 😞 But soon! 😁
Completion should be middle of next week. Have a great weekend!

~Road construction update~

Good news! The end is in sight for the road construction at the intersections of East New Boston Road and Elm, Hickory, and South Pecan. Word is that these intersections will be completed by the end of Friday and opened back up to through traffic. (Thank Goodness!)

We fully understand that this has been a challenge for some and we appreciate your patience while crews work diligently to get the project completed. The next intersection to experience a closure will be East New Boston Road and North Pecan. We will keep you updated as to when that closure will take place. Again, we do not take lightly the inconvenience these road closures cause so our hope is for a smooth finish with no delays!

*Hats off to First Baptist Nash for the nod of approval on your sign! You guys have always been so kind.
