Most of you are aware but I wanted to make it official on this page:
After much reflection, I have made the difficult decision that this school year will be my last as the Librarian at Napoleon Public School.
As I write this, it’s hard to find the right words because this library has meant so much to me. Over the past 9 years as Librarian, and 15 years total in this school, I have poured my heart into building a space and program filled with creativity, curiosity, technology, learning, and connection. Looking back at all we built together fills me with so much pride.
This journey has always carried an even deeper meaning because I had the incredible privilege of stepping into a position once held by Mrs. Paulette Wentz—someone who was quite special to me. To continue her legacy and care for a library that carries her name has been one of the greatest honors of my career. I often prayed for her guidance and hoped I was making her proud.
To Paulette’s family—thank you. Your support, encouragement, kindness, and belief in me throughout these years meant more than I can ever fully express. I cared deeply about honoring this space and your support made this journey even more meaningful.
Leaving this role was not an easy decision. I have taken tremendous pride in the ideas, programs, events, and opportunities we created together, and I would be lying if I said leaving didn’t come with a heavy heart. I worried about stepping away from something I cared so deeply about. But I also know that sometimes the hardest decisions are the ones that lead us into new chapters.
Most of all, I am grateful—for the students who made every day meaningful, for the staff and school community who supported so many ideas over the years, and for the countless memories that filled this library with joy.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of your story. This library and all of you will always hold a very special place in my heart. ♥️
With that being said, there will be no summer library this year- make sure to check out the bookmobile’s summer schedule.
Also, my intention is this page will continue with the next librarian. I will update if/when this happens.
