Happy National Bald Eagle Day! 🦅 Yes, it’s a real holiday not just one we celebrate daily. 😆

We recently had the privilege to help celebrate the life of former Idaho Senator Dirk Kempthorne in Washington DC with our friends at The Peregrine Fund. Among many roles served, he was the Secretary of the Interior when the bald eagle was delisted from the endangered species list. Here are a few photos from our short trip to our nation’s capital.

🦅 Our first open house of the season is Thursday, June 4 from 6-8pm! These are free, family-friendly events featuring live birds of prey! 🦉

Admission is free, but donations are always appreciated to help support the birds and our educational programs.

Important Info for Visitors:
• Please dress for the weather—and the mosquitoes!
• Please leave your pets at home.
• Rain won’t stop us, but if there’s lightning in the forecast, the event will be canceled and announced on our page.
• There are *no* bathrooms on site.
• Mobility assistance available—please contact us in advance so we can help make your visit comfortable.

Happy Earth Day! We’ll celebrate this Saturday at Earth Fair in St. Clair County. Hope you can join the fun!

🦅 We are thrilled to welcome back Michigan Avian Experience, Where Nature Education Takes Flight, as part of our entertainment on Saturday of Earth Fair!

Through education, appreciation, and better understanding, Michigan Avian Experience aims to create connections to the natural world and foster a sense of respect and stewardship. The organization originated in 1998 as the River Raisin Raptor Center for raptor rehabilitation and education. In 2015, the educational branch was renamed Michigan Avian Experience to focus on conservation messages. The organization has conducted hundreds of programs over the years.
