Wondering if that baby animal you found is an orphan? The Finger Lakes Wildlife Hotline is an amazing local resource.
Baby season 2026 is officially in full swing and we’re so glad to be supporting our community through another busy year of wildlife calls!
Between our March 2025 launch and year-end, Finger Lakes Wildlife Hotline fielded well over 1,000 calls. We hit the ground running last season, and while our reporting systems weren’t fully in place until later in the season (we estimate it was likely closer to 2,000 calls), the impact was clear! This resource is needed, and it’s working.
Our goal for 2026 is simple: Grow our network.
We hope to continue expanding across New York by connecting more licensed wildlife rehabilitators to the hotline, so we can better match each caller with someone who can help their specific species, especially when time is of the essence.
To everyone who supported, shared, trusted, and used this resource in 2025, thank you. You helped build something that is truly making a difference!
📲 If we don’t yet have a rehabber connected to our main call-in line for your specific species and location, you can still find help using the online resources on our webpage below.

🫶🏼 If you’re a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in New York, we’d love to have you join our network! Visit our website to learn more and reach out with any questions. Our goal is to build a network that supports one another, because this work is way easier when you have a community behind you.
Here’s to another season of helping wildlife and the people who care enough to step in, both the finders and the rehabbers.
