🏛️ Property Appraiser Vickie A. Downs recently attended the Property Appraisers’ Association of Florida 2026 Post-Legislative Event in The Villages.

It was a great opportunity to connect with fellow Property Appraisers from across the state, discuss legislative updates impacting our offices, and continue collaborating on best practices to better serve Florida property owners.

Vickie remains committed to staying informed and bringing valuable insight and innovation back to Collier County.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice, courage, and dedication to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and loved ones this Memorial Day, let us also take a moment to reflect on those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation.

🕊️ In Loving Memory of Donna Fiala 🕊️

On behalf of Property Appraiser Vickie A. Downs and the entire Collier County Property Appraiser’s Office, we join our community in mourning the passing of Donna Fiala.

Donna was a remarkable public servant whose impact on Collier County will be felt for generations to come. As the longest-serving County Commissioner, she dedicated more than two decades of her life to serving others with compassion, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to her community. She was truly known as “The People’s Commissioner,” who was always accessible and always putting people first.

Her leadership helped shape East Naples and beyond, from expanding community parks and recreational spaces to supporting arts, culture, and programs that brought families together. Her legacy lives on in the many projects, initiatives, and lives she touched throughout Collier County.

Beyond her public service, Donna’s greatest pride was her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished every moment with her loved ones.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of service and kindness will never be forgotten.
