Naples Water Customers: Temporary Change in Water Disinfection Starts Today (June 1–30)

As part of annual water quality maintenance, the City of Naples Utilities Department will temporarily adjust its drinking water disinfection process.

📆 June 1–30, 2026
During this time, the City will disinfect the water using free chlorine instead of chloramines (chlorine + ammonia). This routine change helps maintain water quality and supports distribution system flushing, as recommended by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

This temporary change does not cause adverse health effects. Some customers may notice a slight change in taste or odor during the conversion period, but the water remains safe to drink/use.

⚠️ Special Notice:
- Kidney dialysis patients should contact their physician or equipment supplier.
- Aquarium/fish tank owners should ensure proper water treatment before adding water.

Questions? Call the Water Treatment Plant at (239) 213-3004.

Thank you for your understanding.
