Purchasing Land from Willing Sellers in Collier County

The Collier County Conservation Collier program is currently accepting applications from willing sellers for the purchase of ecologically sensitive land parcels in Collier County. Purchasing land using Conservation Collier program funds permanently extinguishes all development rights except those strictly compatible with the purposes and goals of Conservation Collier. These acquired lands are managed and restored as nature preserves in perpetuity to the benefit of wildlife, water quality, and the surrounding community.

To date, over 222 parcels have been purchased from landowners in the Golden Gate Estates for preservation through the Conservation Collier Program. If you would like to apply to have your undeveloped land parcel considered for acquisition, you can find an electronic application at www.ConservationCollier.com, or email [email protected] or call 239-252-2961 for more information.

If you do not own a parcel of land, but are a member of the community interested in seeing an area preserved, you can nominate parcels for purchase and protection through the online nomination form found at www.ConservationCollier.com or by emailing [email protected] with the Parcel ID information found through the Collier County Property Appraiser Website. Once a parcel is nominated by a member of the public, Conservation Collier staff will determine if the property owner is a willing seller and interested in applying to have the parcel considered for purchase and preservation.

LAND ACQUISITION ADVISORY COMMITTEE VACANCY
The Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Advisory Committee currently has one vacancy. This committee's primary responsibility is to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners an Active Properties Acquisition List with qualified purchase recommendations of environmentally sensitive lands consistent with the goals of the Conservation Collier Land Acquisition Program.
Membership of the committee shall comprise broad and balanced representation including environmental and conservation interests, agricultural and business interests, educational interests, and general civic and citizen interests within Collier County. Members shall have expertise, knowledge or interest in ecology, conservation of natural resources, real estate or land acquisition, land appraisal, land management, eco-tourism or environmental education. Terms are three years.
