October 17. 7PM-10PM. $10pp. Live music and dancing. Cash bar and treats. Sponsored this Halloween season by South Bristol’s Community Engagement Committee. Congratulations on the History and Mystery Bus Tour, art exhibit, and video screening at Brew and Brats to the Bristol Hills Historical Society and South Bristol’s Community Engagement Committee! This event is but one of the ways South Bristol is celebrating the 250th year of our new nation. Did you know there has been a Seneca Point Tennis Tournament here in South Bristol for over 100 years? After a 10 year pause it’s in its second revival year, thanks to the efforts of Sarah Ressler, Courtney Cornell, Taylor Veenema, and Jeff Pierce. The Bristol Hills Historical Society, co-sponsored by South Bristol Community Engagement, is hosting a narrated "History and Mystery" bus tour, $45pp (cash or check, payable at South Bristol town hall): Thursday, September 3, 2026, 6:30-7:30pm bus tour, 7:30-9:00pm sneak peek of video for upcoming volume 2 of History and Mystery: An Illustrated Keepsake. Bus tour visits sites from volume 1 of the book. Begins: 9:23 p.m. (Thu, Aug 27) — Earth’s shadow starts touching the Moon; 10:33 p.m. (Thu, Aug 27) — Moon starts to darken with a coppery/red tint. Maximum Eclipse: 12:12 a.m. (Fri, Aug 28). Partial Eclipse ends: 1:51 a.m. (Fri, Aug 28) — Moon begins to emerge from shadow. Penumbral Eclipse ends: 3:01 a.m. (Fri, Aug 28) — Eclipse fully over.

Two weeks after a total solar eclipse wowed skywatchers in Europe, a near-total lunar eclipse is in store Thursday for people in North and South America.
