September 20th and it’s only 2 weeks before our scheduled 2025 Harvest. The Cabernet sugar concentrations are at 23.2 and the Merlot is a bit of a lager this year at 22.8. Side note; my neighbors Malbec of which they generously share about 500-1000 lbs is right in the middle.
To summarize, the fruit is beginning to to taste like candy and the numbers are aligned for the October 4th harvest date.
Those of you who have enjoyed this annual event are encouraged to mark your calendars and join us.

It’s a wrap. Our 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot blend was bottled this weekend and will be ready to enjoy for the holidays.
This was our first attempt back to a normal activity here at Tadpole since my bride and the world lost our beautiful Dynie.
The support, love and hugs were greatly appreciated.

Greetings friends and followers!

As summer begins to fade away we are left anxiously awaiting fall and all that it brings. Specifically, an abundance of late season garden delights (anyone needs tomatoes 😂) as well as the ripening of our wine grapes.

While the rumors are true that it is trending towards a late harvest, and we do indeed hope so, only nature can dictate.

We checked the fruit sugars and tastes this week and the results we good;

Cabernet Sauvignon = BRIX 21.7
Merlot = BRIX 21.9
Malbec = BRIX 19.5

We’re having cool weather so far so unless we get any heat spikes, another 3-4 weeks of ripening is what we’re hoping for.

BTW those front of house pictures show the transformation from lawn and other high water usage to a less water dependent landscape….more to come on that.

We’ll, here it is, just about Thanksgiving and that can mean only three things; family, friends and BOTTLING ANOTHER VINTAGE OF TADPOLE!

The 2019 cab, Merlot and Malbecs have progressed wonderfully over the last 24 months and it’s screaming to get into the bottle, so we humbly oblige.

For those old soals who’ve joined in the past and would like to join, we’ll get started around 10a on Saturday the 27th.

We’ve got about enough already committed but it’s an open door policy so let us know if you’d like to join!
