It was a great honor to once again welcome Reverend Teresa Darden of the Upper Room House of Worship Church in Spring Valley to the New York State Senate Chamber to deliver today’s invocation. Reverend Darden’s faith, leadership, and longstanding service to our community continue to make a lasting impact, and I am proud to support ongoing efforts to rename a portion of Bethune Boulevard as “Reverend Darden Way” in recognition of her many contributions.

I’m proud to report that the Tier 6 pension reform I’ve consistently fought and advocated for alongside the Rockland PBA and others has officially passed in New York.

With my advocacy and YES vote, we scored a major victory for the police officers, firefighters, teachers, and other public employees who serve our citizens every day.

After years of recruitment and retention issues, the days of hardworking public employees contributing more, earning less, and retiring much later than those in any other tier plans are over.
