** PENNSYLVANIA WINTER STORM: SECOND CALL **

Merry Christmas! I wish we had better news, but the latest trends are not good. Areas of heavy ice and sleet will lead to hazardous travel on Friday. The heaviest snow in Northeastern PA will lead to very heavy snowfall rates of 2" per hour or more, with localized spots receiving close to a foot of snow. An ice storm is expected for the central Appalachians and Laurel Highlands, and into the Allegheny Plateau.
