🌟 Myah Johnson – one of our Head Lifeguards – has been named a 2026 Nantucket Scholar. Myah consistently sets the bar high, both in the classroom and on the beach. Her skill, dedication, and leadership make her a standout in every sense, and it’s no surprise she’s so often recognized as Guard of the Week. We’re beyond lucky to have her on our team!

🌊 Xavy Rivas Rondon – a valued member of our water crew and boat operator – has been awarded a 2026 Professional Scholarship. Xavy’s commitment to serving the community and his passion for becoming a professional mariner truly set him apart. His future on the water is bright, and we’re proud to be part of his journey.

To both Myah and Xavy — we couldn’t be more proud of you. Keep leading the way!

Childrens Beach Storm gate is open! Thank you so much to Richard Moore and the amazing crew from the DPW for helping us close the gate before the storm, securing it for the storm and reopening it today!! The DPW is getting things moving on this island both on land and at sea! Opening the gate and clearing the ramp allowed scallopers and oyster farmers to get back to work! Thank you DPW…. Your crews are the best! We appreciate you!

⚠️Warm weather and rain have only weakened the ice so please pay attention!⚠️
With temperatures fluctuating, shorelines may appear frozen and solid - but frozen seawater is unpredictable and extremely dangerous. Tides, currents, and changing temperatures can weaken the ice from below, creating thin spots that aren’t visible from the surface. What looks sturdy will give way in seconds.
Local ponds may appear frozen as well, but fluctuating temperatures are causing ice to thin and weaken.
With school vacation starting, please be extra aware of children who may be tempted to explore or play on the ice.
Please remember:
• Stay off all frozen ocean water and tidal areas
• Keep a safe distance from the shoreline
• Keep dogs on leash when walking near ice on the shoreline or near ponds — pets can easily run onto unstable areas and fall through. If a dog gets stuck in the ice call 9-1-1, do not go onto the ice!
