PRESS RELEASE // Nampa Now Accepts Catering, Concession and Alcohol Applications Online

The City Clerk’s Office announced today that catering permits, alcohol licenses and concession permits can now be completed online. The system is designed to make it simpler, faster, and more transparent for residents and businesses to apply for and manage their licenses and permits.

Applicants will be able to start applications, upload required documents, track status, and receive updates online rather than relying solely on in-person or paper processes. The portal is intended to reduce wait times, improve consistency in review and give the public a clearer view of where an application stands.

“The City Clerk’s Office is delighted to unveil our brand-new, streamlined licensing and permitting system,” shared City Clerk Char Tim. “This will make the process not only more efficient but also very user-friendly. We are excited for the public to experience the enhanced transparency and convenience this system will bring to our community, making it easier than ever to navigate our services.”

The licensing and permitting portal is available by clicking “Apply” at https://nampaid-energovpub.tylerhost.net/apps/selfservice #/home, or by clicking on the “Licenses & Permits” button from the City of Nampa’s homepage (cityofnampa.us). While some licenses and permits remain only available on the Clerk’s website (https://www.cityofnampa.us/147/Licenses), the goal is to transition almost all licenses and permits to the new portal by the end of the year.

Residents and business owners are required to create an account before submitting applications online. The City Clerk’s Office remains available to assist applicants who need help using the new system or have questions by calling (208) 468-5415.

The Idaho Foodbank is hosting a community food distribution on Wednesday, September 16, at the Ford Idaho Center. The distribution is expected to run from 11am-2:30pm, or until food runs out. Please share with anyone who may be interested in this opportunity.

The Idaho Foodbank website also lists several local pantries or other opportunities to access free food if you’re unable to attend the distribution.

PRESS RELEASE // Irrigation Season to End September 28
The City of Nampa will shut down its irrigation system for the season Monday, September 28 to coincide with Pioneer Irrigation District, Nampa-Meridian Irrigation District and Boise-Kuna Irrigation District.

As the irrigation districts near the end of their allotment, each district determines when they will shut off the water to customers, which includes the City of Nampa. The City of Nampa receives water from three irrigation districts (Pioneer Irrigation District, Nampa & Meridian Irrigation District and Boise-Kuna Irrigation District).
The City of Nampa needs water delivery from all three irrigation districts to fully run our pressurized system.

Yearly irrigation assessments are calculated and based on the square footage of a property. The City of Nampa’s irrigation water is not metered, and the length of the season is dependent on the availability of water.

During the summer irrigation season, Nampa adds up to 12 million gallons of Class A recycled water daily to the Phyllis Canal, which represents 15 percent of the city's irrigation needs. This is equivalent to 5,000 acre-feet of water storage in the reservoirs that supply irrigation water to Nampa and the surrounding valley. By recycling water for irrigation, Nampa is keeping more water in the storage reservoirs, which helps extend the irrigation season. Designated as Class A, Nampa’s recycled water undergoes continuous, rigorous testing and meets the highest safety standards.

Nampa is working hard with partners across the Treasure Valley to help build a sustainable water future.

ADDITIONAL REMINDERS:
• Do not use potable (house) water to irrigate lawns as it will increase the water and sewer charges on your utility bill. The City of Nampa does not have enough backup domestic water to fulfill irrigation needs.
• The Nampa Water and Irrigation Division reminds individuals and companies that the city valve should not be turned off when blowing out sprinkler lines. The keyed turnoff is for city emergency use only.
