This is a reminder that the City of Myrtle Point has a leash ordinance (90.056). Dog owners must have control of the leash and the dog not drag it. We have received many complaints that either the dog is dragging he leash or not leashed at all. This ordinance will be enforced and could have possible fines if not followed.

TONIGHT, 5.14.26 at approximately 6:30-7p.m, the Myrtle Point Fire Department will be doing a Burn to Learn on a barn off of HWY 42, close to Coffee Cup Corner. Please do not call 911, please do not come down the driveway, this is a private residence. Burn to learn" (live fire training) is crucial for fire departments because it provides realistic, controlled exposure to heat, smoke, and fire dynamics, building essential confidence and skills in firefighters while reducing injuries and property damage in real scenarios. It normalizes high-stress environments, improves decision-making, and strengthens crew communication under pressure. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SHARE TO AVOID CONFUSION.
