Today, we celebrated IT Professionals Day by recognizing Sarah Arthur and Ray Minette for all they do to keep AAST running smoothly! From troubleshooting student and staff technology issues to helping us stay connected, Sarah and Ray are always ready to tackle our tech challenges with patience and expertise.

They were treated to lunch as a small token of our appreciation. Thank you, Sarah and Ray, for keeping us connected and helping make AAST the amazing place it is!

Diyora is a wonderful example of a quiet leader who makes a positive impact through her kindness, friendliness, and strong work ethic. She is always willing to welcome others, especially new students, and makes an effort to help everyone feel included and comfortable.

Even just a few weeks into the school year, Diyora has already demonstrated an impressive commitment to her work. She asks thoughtful, targeted questions, stays engaged in class, and has already taken the initiative to get ahead on assignments. Mauriana is known for her respect, kindness, positive attitude, and genuine care for those around her. She brings positive energy to our school community and approaches each day with a strong work ethic and willingness to get involved.

AAST students visited Ocean Bay Elementary today to share their love of reading as part of our International Literacy celebrations this week. Students read stories to K–5 classes, giving younger students the chance to enjoy a good book while connecting with our AAST students. It was a great way to celebrate the power of stories and the joy of reading across our schools!

Today, AAST celebrated International Literacy Day by taking a break from the usual routine to Drop Everything and Read! Students paused to enjoy a little quiet time with a good book and celebrate the power of reading.

Meanwhile, Ms. Penn’s theater classes kicked off their Stories That Soar program with students at Ocean Bay Elementary! AAST theater students introduced the OBE students to the Magic Box, where young authors will place their original stories. But what happens to those stories after they go into the box? ✨ They’ll eventually make their way back to AAST, where our theater students will bring them to life on stage!

Congratulations to our senior Biomedical Science students. Twenty-seven students received their White Coats in recognition of their hard work as AAST Biomed scholars. The white coat ceremony is a rite of passage for medical students. It's a significant milestone in their journey. The ceremony marks the transition from preclinical to clinical health sciences. It's often held at the beginning of medical school before students have taken any lectures or laboratory classes. The ceremony is a tradition to recognize students who seek a role in clinical practice. During the ceremony, a white coat is placed on each student's shoulders. We are proud of these future medical professionals’ dedication to their studies.

We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on two incredible students who are making our school community a better place every day!

Antonio Ribardo brings positivity and heart to everything he does in the classroom. His teachers can't say enough about his respectful attitude, genuine engagement, and the kindness he shows to everyone around him. Antonio actively participates in discussions, shares his thoughtful insights, and takes time to lift others up. He's the kind of student who makes learning a joy for everyone!

Armani Cunningham truly went above and beyond when he showed up to Open House dressed in a suit—ready to welcome our new junior students with open arms. Here's what makes this so special: no one asked him to be there. Armani came entirely on his own because he wanted our newest students to feel encouraged and supported on their first day. What an amazing example of leadership and school spirit!

Antonio and Armani, you make us proud! Thank you for showing us what it means to lead with kindness, character, and heart. We're so grateful to have you both as part of our Koi Family.

Congratulations to Nicolette Negron, our Junior Student of the Month! A junior in the Pre-Med major, Nicolette has consistently demonstrated outstanding character, kindness, a strong work ethic, and the positive attitude that embodies Koi Pride.

Nicolette is an active member of the AAST community through HOSA, Student Council, and Honor Societies, where she continues to make a positive impact and grow as a leader.

We’re excited to recognize Nicolette for all she brings to the Koi Pond and look forward to seeing the many ways she will continue to lead and represent AAST!
