Second Lady Usha Vance has launched the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge, inviting students in kindergarten through eighth grade across the United States to read 12 books between June 1 and September 4.

Children who complete the challenge will receive a personalized certificate, an America 250-themed bookmark, and access to special prizes. Participants will also be entered for a chance to visit Washington, D.C., and the White House.

The initiative is part of the nationwide celebration of America’s 250th anniversary and aims to encourage reading, learning, and imagination among young students during the summer months.

Class placements for the upcoming year will be shared with students who have already registered on the last day of school. We encourage those who haven't registered yet to take action by Monday to secure their spot. If your plans have changed regarding school attendance, kindly notify the front office at 843-236-0001.

As we kick off our 30th year, we're declaring it a Full Throttle Learning Year and inviting our community to join forces with us. Your generosity can make a tangible difference in making this year unforgettable for everyone. We are currently accepting donations of gently used Power Wheels, Tricyles, BigWheels , Tonka's, Matchbox, and Hot Wheels, which can be dropped off at the front office.
