Big News for our small community!
Frederick County (MD) Fire & Rescue and Frederick County Government continue to invest in Wolfsville Community to help make all of us safer! This is a major addition to our water supply infrastructure and the location, so graciously donated by the Wolfsville Ruritan Club, works in well conjunction with our already established dry hydrants in the area that Frederick County has assist with installing in the past.

🚒🤝Mutual Aid in Action: Water Supply Training

DFRS Career Staff and Volunteers from Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Company recently conducted a multiple-company training drill focused on drafting and relay pumping operations.

The drill provided an opportunity for crews from multiple companies to work together on establishing a water supply, drafting from a static water source, and moving large volumes of water over distance through relay pumping operations.

Training together with neighboring departments is an important part of maintaining strong mutual-aid capabilities. These drills allow firefighters to practice communications, apparatus positioning, pump operations, and water supply coordination before those skills are needed at an actual incident.

A big thank you to all of the companies and members who participated and helped make the training a success. A HUGE thank you to Caboose Farm for allowing us to use your facility for our drill. Working together with community partners and fire companies around us in training makes us stronger when it matters most.

**Found Cellphone** If anyone in our community lost their phone yesterday then we may have it at the firehouse. The phone was found outside of our station last night and doesn’t belong to any of our volunteers or career staff, we think it may have been brought to the station by whomever found it first. While many were enjoying Independence Day with cookouts, family gatherings, and fireworks, the volunteers of Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Company were hard at work away from their families serving our community.

The severe storms that moved through the area generated numerous emergency calls, including downed power lines, trees blocking roadways, trees on homes, and structure fires. Our crews worked alongside utility crews from Xfinity and the Maryland State Highway Administration to clear roadways and restore access for residents, ensuring emergency vehicles could reach those in need. Many roads throughout our first due area were completely blocked, with some impassable in multiple locations.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the DFRS/L3666 crew assigned to Myersville and the community members for their assistance in reopening MD Route 17, the neighboring departments that offered personnel and equipment throughout the incident, and the personnel at Frederick County Emergency Communications who had their hands full getting assistance to many communities in the county effected by the storm along with other non storm related emergencies.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedication of our volunteers and our mutual aid partners who answered the call while others were celebrating. Thank you to everyone who helped keep our community safe.

🚒 Now In Service: Special Unit 21! 🚑

The Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Company is proud to announce that Special Unit 21 is officially in service!

This new 2026 Ram 2500, equipped with a Reading utility body, will serve as our EMS First Responder Unit. Designed to safely and efficiently carry the equipment our personnel need, Special Unit 21 will enhance our ability to respond quickly to medical emergencies throughout the Wolfsville community.

Replacing an aging support vehicle, this new unit improves reliability, organization, and operational efficiency while allowing us to better serve the residents and visitors of our 40+ square mile coverage area.

As part of refreshing our fleet, Special Unit 21 also features a new graphics scheme that sets it apart from our current units. The updated design improves visibility while giving the vehicle a clean, modern appearance that reflects the professionalism of our department.

Special Unit 21 represents our continued commitment to providing dependable emergency medical services and making responsible investments in equipment that supports our volunteers and the community.
