Our crews had a busy night responding to multiple incidents throughout the area.

Earlier in the evening, crews responded to a tree down in our 1st Due. We also assisted the Keystone Hook & Ladder Company No. 1 with a tree down in their 1st Due, while crews throughout the area were handling numerous additional tree and wires down calls.

Soon after clearing the previous incidents, our crews were called to assist at a barn fire in the 31-05 box in the south side of the township. Engine 32 with 6, PT with 3 along with the Deputy made the response before the incident was eventually scaled back by Chief 31.

So we had a fire this morning and lost our equipment storage building and contents. Yes it is a loss and the news loves fire pictures but the real story that should be told is the 100 volunteer emergency personnel that gave their time at 2:30 in the morning. My calculation is about $20,000,000 worth of equipment showed up to help us and this equipment was purchased through some grants but mostly by fundraisers and fund drives that were put on by these same volunteers. Support your local Fire and EMS companies!! They are the best of us!

Working Barn in 31 Local

One working fire, an MVA, and another Box alarm for the day.

Just after 2:30am this morning LCDES sent out the 1st alarm barn assignment on Race Street in Jackson Township brining the Engine and Pumper/Tanker. Deputy 31 arrived to a well involved barn. Engine 32 arrived and conducted a reverse lay 800' to a hydrant on park street, supplying the fire scene for 3 hours, while crew assisted on scene with suppression and overhaul. The PT assisted with the water shuttle for two hours before being released.

After the engine picked up it was placed available on the scene while company 31s crews continued overhaul operations. During this period LCDES notified command 31 of a motor vehicle accident in their jurisdiction. Engine 32 along with Rescue 31 made the response to Lincoln Avenue, finding a single vehicle MVA involving a telephone pole. Engine 32 assisted on the scene for just under an hour before being released.

Later this evening LCDES sent out the dwelling box in the 32-02. Crews arrived to find a stovetop fire that was extinguished by the homeowners fire extinguisher prior to FD arrival. Crews checked for extension and rendered the stove safe before returning.

Fireman's Games

Kutztown Community Fire Company Takes First Place at Lebanon Area Fair Fireman's Games

The members participated in the Lebanon Area Fair Fireman's Games today, with Engine 32 and a crew of four members representing our department.

Throughout the afternoon, our firefighters competed in several challenging events that tested their teamwork, speed, and skill, including Cone Chucking, Fastest Dress, the Obstacle Course, and the Battle of the Barrel. These competitions highlight many of the abilities firefighters rely on during emergency responses while promoting friendly competition and camaraderie among neighboring departments.

After a great performance across all events, the Kutztown Community Fire Company earned 1st Place Overall, bringing home the championship trophy along with a $750 cash prize for the firehouse.

We are incredibly proud of our members for their dedication, teamwork, and professionalism both on and off the fireground.

Congratulations to our crew on an excellent showing, and thank you to the Lebanon Area Fair for hosting another great Fireman's Games.
