Our deepest gratitude is extended to the members of the Oklahoma legislature for their investment in public education this week! An even bigger thanks should be provided to our very own Senator Dewayne Pemberton for his work on the senate side to pass this historic education budget!
As most have heard, yesterday was a historic day for Education is our State.
House Republicans prioritized an education plan that worked for every student, every ‎parent, every teacher and every school district in our state. ‎The proposal does what's best for our students, supports strong parent involvement in their ‎children's education and ensures that our teachers have the resources needed to excel in ‎their jobs‎.
House Republicans have pushed for increased investments into public education over the ‎last five years, and we will continue to prioritize education in the future.‎ With the implementation of this education plan, we will have invested more money into ‎public education in the last five years than in the previous 25 years. ‎
From 1993-2018, the state invested $1.37B into public education. From 2019 to the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, we will have invested $1.45B into public ‎education. This years allocation of $785 million with $625 million in recurring funds, is the LARGEST single appropriation of money ever into education.‎
