Hands-on learning is the best kind of learning!

Students at Wesley have been exploring all things animals in the classroom, and recently took their learning into the real world with a field trip to Petco! From fish and reptiles to small pets and more, students had the chance to observe, ask questions, and connect their classroom lessons to real-life experiences.

Art Ed Summit 2026 brought together art educators from across West Michigan for a full day of creativity, collaboration, and career-connected learning at the Muskegon Museum of Art.

Hosted in partnership with the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District, Kent ISD and Ottawa Area ISD, this immersive professional development event focused on the intersection of visual arts, storytelling, STEAM, and real-world creative careers.

Educators had the opportunity to:
🎨 Explore the “Art of Comics” exhibit
🦸 Learn from professionals connected to Marvel & Disney
💡 Participate in Career Connected Art breakout sessions
🤝 Network with fellow educators and industry professionals
🔬 Discover new STEAM integration strategies for the classroom

What an incredible day at Muskegon Luge with Muskegon Area ISD Transition at Craig Campus participants for an unforgettable adventure experience filled with laughter, challenges, and great moments outdoors. From the trails to the activities, this day was all about connection, confidence, and having fun together.
