Making Muskegon a better place is a passion of Ken's, and he is committed to working with the residents and businesses of each of our 15 neighborhoods to bring about a citywide renaissance. Ken Johnson was born and raised on the east end, attending Oakview Elementary, Steele Middle School and Muskegon High School. After HS, he attended The George Washington University, where he earned a dual B.A.
Nowadays, Ken lives on the west side of Muskegon, working in the community & serving as vice president of the Nims Neighborhood Association. Dedicated to the development of a bustling, dynamic downtown, Ken Johnson understands that healthy, safe and vibrant neighborhoods are key to making this happen.

To help Muskegon’s neighborhoods and downtown truly flourish, Ken Johnson is focused on bolstering economic opportunity, reducing crime, increasing jobs, improving educational attainment, and promoting healthy communities. Recognizing that neither he nor the City Commission has all the solutions to what ails us, Ken seeks to collaborate with community and business leaders on forging ahead with the continuous improvement of our great city. Moreover, he is excited to hear from and work with the residents of our neighborhoods on moving Muskegon forward. At his day job, Ken is a financial advisor with Waddell & Reed, located in Downtown Muskegon.
