Thank you to all who serve, have served and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for their communities!

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

National Police Week is a collaborative effort of many organizations dedicated to honoring America’s law enforcement community.

Please join us in welcoming Deputy Mitchell Wilson to the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Wilson is a native of Muskegon County, Michigan. He graduated from the West Shore Police Academy in 2023 and is continuing his law enforcement career with the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office. Previously, he has 3 years of total law enforcement experience from other agencies. He was an FTO and participated on the Muskegon County ERT while at other agencies. In his free time, he enjoys golfing and spending time with family and friends.

Please join us in in congratulating Sergeant Trevon Durr to his recent promotion at the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office. Sgt. Durr has worked with the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office for the past four years, with previous experience from another agency totaling eight years. While working at MCSO, Sgt. Durr did a brief time in Court Services before he transferred to the Enforcement Division where he started out as a Road Deputy and later became a P.I.N.S Deputy for Egelston Township. Sgt. Durr has an Associate’s Degree from Grand Rapids Community College.

During his time in the Enforcement Division, Sgt. Durr worked as a Field Training Officer, Taser Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and teaches in many other roles as well. Sgt. Durr also is a member of the Muskegon County Emergency Response Team, and has served on this team for the past three years.

Please join us in welcoming Deputy Anthony Mida to the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office. Deputy Mida grew up in Arizona before relocating to Michigan in 2023. He served in the United Stated Air Force, promoting to Staff Sergeant, and also took on additional duties in support of the United States Army during his military career. Deputy Mida also served as a police officer with the City of Muskegon Police Department before coming to MCSO.
