We extend our sincere condolences to the friends, family, and the entire Muskegon Charter Township Fire Department on the passing of Captain Bryan Fethke. Not only did Captain Fethke serve the residents of Muskegon Township throughout his career, you could also find him serving the residents of Egelston Township through our Mutal Aid partnerships and simply as the township in which he called Home.

The members of our Department are deeply sadden as Captain Fethke was a friend, mentor, and leader to all of us. He truly left the Fire Service better than when he found it.

Captain Fethke, Thank you for your dedication, commitment, and friendship. You will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

To our Brothers and Sisters of the Muskegon Charter Township Fire Department we along with multiple other departments in which Captain Fethke made a mark on share your grief. We are here to support you with whatever you need.

May you Rest Easy Captain and watch over us all.

Congratulations to our very own PINS Deputy Trevon Durr! Thank you for your service to Egelston!

Please join us in in congratulating Sergeant Trevon Durr to his recent promotion at the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office. Sgt. Durr has worked with the Muskegon County Sheriff's Office for the past four years, with previous experience from another agency totaling eight years. While working at MCSO, Sgt. Durr did a brief time in Court Services before he transferred to the Enforcement Division where he started out as a Road Deputy and later became a P.I.N.S Deputy for Egelston Township. Sgt. Durr has an Associate’s Degree from Grand Rapids Community College.

During his time in the Enforcement Division, Sgt. Durr worked as a Field Training Officer, Taser Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, and teaches in many other roles as well. Sgt. Durr also is a member of the Muskegon County Emergency Response Team, and has served on this team for the past three years.

Representatives for Aqua Eye will be demonstrating a handheld Sonar Unit designed for locating drowning victims today at Sunset Beach on Wolf Lake.

You may notice several First Response personnel from various agencies present at the beach.

There is no emergency or hazards, this is only a hands on demonstration of the Aqua Eye sonar unit.
