Delta Company Family and Friends,
Turning Blue (10 March 2016): The Turning Blue ceremony entails your Soldier receiving his Infantry Blue Cord, signifying that he has completed all requirements to join the ranks of the U.S. Army Infantryman. The 1-19th Infantry Battalion Commander, LTC Dan Vogel conducts an orientation briefing for families and guests at 9:00 a.m. at the Regimental Chapel which is building 3220 on Sand Hill. After the briefing, all guests are directed to Pomeroy Field for the Turning Blue Ceremony at 10:15 a.m. Upon completion of the ceremony, all soldiers will be placed on pass until 7:00 p.m. All Soldiers must return from pass no later than 7:00 p.m. that evening. No overnight passes will be granted.
Graduation (11 March, 2016): Graduation occurs outside the National Infantry Museum. The ceremony begins promptly at 10:00 a.m., and I recommend that you arrive early to allow time for parking and finding a seat. The National Infantry Museum will be open prior to the ceremony- along with the concessions stand and Soldier’s Store. Upon completion of the ceremony, Soldiers will be released to travel to their follow-on assignments. AIRBORNE Soldiers
All Soldiers (Ranger Regiment Candidates and Airborne Candidates) that are attending Airborne school will have to report to Airborne school for in processing immediately following graduation. After the graduation ceremony on Friday, all Soldiers will be given time about 15-20 minutes to interact with family members. After that 20 minutes all Airborne Soldiers will load the bus and be transported over to Airborne school. All Soldiers will be required to ride the bus over to in process Airborne school. The family should expect the in processing to take around 4-5 hours. Once your Soldiers graduates and reports to Airborne school he no longer is under the control of Delta Company 1-19 Infantry.
Non AIRBORNE Active Duty Soldiers
After that 20 minutes to interact with family all Active duty Soldiers, whose next duty station is stateside will load the buses and be transported directly to their next duty station.
If the Soldier has an overseas assignment they will be authorized 14 days of leave before they will depart for next duty assignment.
