This week, the Muscle Shoals Regional Training Center hosted an ARFF (Aircraft Rescue Firefighting) class through the Alabama Fire College. Students received hands-on training in airport and aircraft familiarization, as well as techniques for extinguishing various types of aircraft fires.

We were proud to host students from across the country, including Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, Louisiana, Nevada, and California.

This morning shortly before 8am, Muscle Shoals Fire units responded to a reported structure fire in our Number 2 district. Engine 2 arrived on scene and reported smoke coming from a one-story commercial building. Shortly after arrival, it was determined that the fire had already been extinguished by the business staff prior to our arrival.

Muscle Shoals Fire personnel remained on scene to ensure the fire was completely extinguished, check for any extension, and remove smoke from the building.

We would like to thank the Muscle Shoals Electric Department and the Muscle Shoals Police Department for their quick response and assistance during the incident.

When emergencies happen, every life matters — including our four-legged family members. In house fires and smoke-related emergencies, pets are especially vulnerable to smoke inhalation, and standard oxygen masks made for humans are not effective for animals.
The members of Muscle Shoals Fire Department would like to sincerely thank Dalton Pharmacy for generously donating new pet oxygen mask kits for all four of our stations. Dalton Pharmacy previously donated pet oxygen masks to our department several years ago, and those masks have been used numerous times by our firefighters to help save the lives of pets during fire and smoke emergencies.
These new updated masks come as individual kits and will help us continue providing lifesaving oxygen care to animals when every second counts. We are extremely grateful for Dalton Pharmacy’s continued support and commitment to helping us protect both our community and their pets.
Thank you again for continuing to invest in our department and helping us save lives.

We were honored to be invited to participate in Careers on Wheels at Howell School this past Thursday! It was a great opportunity to connect with students and share a look into the fire service.
A big thank you to our B-Shift crew and our Fire Prevention Office for taking the time to be there and represent our department so well. We truly appreciate your dedication to community involvement and education.
We’re also grateful for the invitation to come out and showcase our equipment and apparatus. Opportunities like this help build strong relationships with the community we proudly serve.
Thank you again to everyone who made this event possible!

Sunday, our A-Shift crews with the Muscle Shoals Fire Department showed exactly what professionalism, training, and teamwork look like in the face of a challenging industrial fire. Their quick response, strong coordination, and dedication to doing the job right made a real difference in a tough situation. We’re proud of the way they handled it from start to finish.
At the same time, we never lose sight of the fact that a local business owner experienced damage, and that’s something no one ever wants to see. Our thoughts are with them as they begin the process of recovery, and we stand ready to support our community however we can.
Moments like this also highlight the commitment of our entire department. The countless hours of training, preparation, and hard work that each member puts in—day in and day out—are what make responses like this possible. It doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built over time through dedication and pride in serving others.
Great job to A-Shift, and to every member of our department who continues to put in the work to keep our community safe.
