This week is the first week of the Fall 2026 semester and we're happy to be back with each other, whether face-to-face or through a screen! While most of our students have stayed busy taking classes through the summer, we welcome our new cohort in the Fall.
Say hello in the comments if you're in the new cohort!

Kentucky welcomes (Instructure)to Louisville this year, where educators of all kinds gather to look for opportunities to learn and transform teaching!

Doctor of Arts program faculty joining this year include Dr. Zachary Garrett and Dr. Shimikqua Ellis, picking up ideas for enhancing our Instructional Technology in English and Assessment in English courses and tools for improving the learning experience for students in our program.

Sharing a couple of pictures of our faculty out and about in Louisville!

Publication alert!
We're proud to share that program alumnae Susie Fries and Julie Eng are published in the current issue of Teaching English in the Two-Year College, the journal of the Two-Year College English Association (an NCTE constituent group): "Faculty Perceptions of Multimodality in Community College Composition Classrooms in Tennessee and Virginia".

Their study addresses faculty perceptions of multimodality and multimodal assignments across the majority of community colleges in Tennessee and Virginia.

Dr. Julie Eng is an assistant professor of English at Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin, Virginia, and Dr. Susie Fries is a visiting lecturer of English at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Great work Julie and Susie!

Ok, so we admit that online summer teaching doesn't offer many photogenic moments...but this is what our students are up to this summer!
And even though you can't see it in this picture, students are diving into new texts, sharing ideas, and building learning communities all summer long.
The regular academic year may be over, but learning never stops!
