A huge thank-you to Norton Children's Hospital and the Pediatric Pandemic Network for donating a Carter Kits Sensory Bag to our Emergency Department!

Caring for children with autism during an emergency room visit takes extra thought and compassion. These kits are designed to help reduce anxiety and sensory overload for our pediatric patients on the autism spectrum - giving our team the tools to create a calmer, more supportive experience during what can already be a scary moment for a child and their family.

This generous donation is part of our ongoing partnership with Norton Children's Hospital, which has been instrumental in helping our ED grow its pediatric readiness. We're so grateful for collaborators who share our commitment to making sure every child who comes through our doors, regardless of their needs, receives compassionate, individualized care.

Thank you, Norton Children's and the Pediatric Pandemic Network!

🌻 MENTAL HEALTH MONDAY

As summer winds down, routines begin to change. School starts back, work schedules shift, activities pick up, and suddenly the slower pace of summer is replaced with a much busier calendar.

Adjusting to a new routine can take time. Give yourself grace as you find your rhythm again. 💛

A few things that can help:
• Make time for rest and self-care
• Focus on one change at a time
• Keep your expectations realistic
• Remember that adjusting doesn't happen overnight

If you're having a difficult time adjusting or would like help understanding what you're experiencing, talk with your provider about a mental health assessment at Murray Clinical Psychology. Give us a call at 270-762-1570!

🎉 Congratulations to Mary Bachusz, MCCH’s July Employee of the Month! 🎉

Mary has been a valued member of our Inpatient Rehabilitation team for more than eight years. Her coworkers describe her as dependable, hardworking, and always willing to help - whether supporting a teammate, working extra hours or taking the time to make patients feel seen, heard, and cared for.

Mary was also recognized for going above and beyond during MCCH’s transition to Cerner, creating helpful resources to make the process easier for her team.

Please join us in congratulating Mary on this well-deserved recognition and thanking her for her dedication to our patients and MCCH! 💙

Stronger Together for Our Smallest Patients 💙👶

MCCH extends a heartfelt thank you to Baptist Health Paducah, Dr. Ed O’Neil, and the John and Loree Eckstein Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team for their continued commitment to neonatal education and collaboration.

Today, 13 members of our Perinatal Services team had the opportunity to attend the Infant S.T.A.B.L.E. class, strengthening the knowledge and skills needed to recognize, stabilize, and safely care for vulnerable newborns.

Our partnership with a regional NICU helps ensure a seamless continuum of care for babies born at MCCH who may need specialized neonatal services. We are grateful for the expertise, education, and support Baptist Health Paducah continues to share with our team.

Together, we’re making neonatal care safer and stronger for families across our region.
