Happy Earth Earth Day! Is it Spring or Winter your guess is as good as ours. What we do know is at UMA we have never placed politics in front of a healthy environment. We understand good earth means good jobs, good economy, and most importantly healthy people.

At UMA we sit on numerous boards and commissions that focus on a healthy, balanced and long lasting environment. Utah Water Ways, JQL USU Institute for Land Water and Air, STEMheads, DEQ Industry Partners, multiple Great Salt Lake groups, and UT STEM Industry Board to name just a few. The groups we work with are relevant and crucial to Utah, business/tech’s role in the environment, and the overall global future.

So your support/membership is vital in the fight to keep Utah's environment safe and healthy. Talk about getting a little extra bang for your buck.

We ask that each of you take a moment to go out in Mother Nature away from urban sounds, political banter, and other’s opinions to find your own part in the natural world and then act on what you can do to help. Thank you all and Happy Earth Day!

We were fortunate enough to join Coca-Cola and watch live as they rolled out the America250 bottles at their Salt Lake City Production Plant. We joined Rep. Celeste Maloy and the Utah Beverage Association to witness this history in action. This is a prime example of the impact of what Utah makes not only in Utah, but the country.

We cannot wait to see these bottles and cans in store and enjoy a refreshing coke this summer.

🏎️ Racing into your feed is the official UMA Pit Crew ... Team PUMA! 🏎️

After hearing for years about the pit crew course which is hosted by Utah Industry Partners we accepted the challenge to see what our team can do. We went head to head with our "rival" associations, but in reality we were in competition with ourselves. Our first round went well .... not that great clocking in at 1m16s. So what did we do? We took the lessons provided during the training to analyze what we did well and what we could do better and made adjustments.

Second round went a little better. We managed to knock off about 20 seconds, but still got hit up with a penalty. Tiny adjustments were made to limit some of our issues and communicated to each other when we needed help. At the last round we ended up nailing our best time at 36s which means in four short attempts we managed to cut our time down by over half!

Overall this was a super fun team building event, but we walked away with some important lessons and ideas on what tiny adjustments we can make in our lives to improve different aspects of it. Some of our top lessons were:

🏎️ Allow room for every voice to be heard
🏎️ Communication is key
🏎️ You can't always be focused on only your job
🏎️ Faster is not always better
🏎️ Positive feedback for the win!
